SUSPICIOUS KNOCK: Impersonation Case | News
At 9.30 a.m. there is a knock at the door from a female claiming to be from the Department of Human Resources…
Do you let them in?
One Newton resident did just that only to become suspicious and later call the police.
It turns out the occupant was right. The DHS has reported that none of their workers were at this residence on the 12th,the day of the incident.
The suspicious visitor left without incident after conducting what was described as an inspection of the home to check the welfare of the children.
Police are warning that if you question the legitimacy of someone claiming to be a Federal, State, or local official you should request that the person should produce official identification. If still not satisfied, you should contact local law enforcement and deny entry until the police arrive.
